Though what Jason did for a living was a constant threat, there was never a day that he didn't wake up thinking about Robin. He thinks about her 100 times during the day, and then she's the last thing he thinks about when he falls asleep." Robert Guza, Soaps In Depth, 7-21-98 "Theirs is a love for all time. She'd rather be with Jason, living under a cloud of danger, than be without him. He completes her in a way that nobody else does or, in her mind, ever will." On Jason & Robin Steve Burton 1996 "There was always something there between them [Jason and Robin], some kind of 'Maybe they'll get together' type of thing--even when I was the old Jason [Quartermaine] and Robin was too young. I love our [his and Kimberly's] story and I love working with her. Kimberly's a beautiful girl inside and out." On Jason and Robin and working with Kimberly. Soap Opera Magazine, August 5, 1997 Jason becomes furious at Robin for going behind his back and betraying his trust. Their confrontation leads to an emotional exchange. "I'd have to say this is the most fun and best work Kimberly McCullough (Robin) and I have done together to date," Burton says. Soap Opera Update February 4, 1997 Robin will soon return for another semester at Yale. "I don't think the distance is a problem with Jason at all," says Steve Burton, who plays the rebel. "He's pretty simple when it comes to feelings. He loves Robin and he doesn't think he can love someone else at the same time. Like in real life, if your in love with somebody, you're not even paying attention to anyone else. It wasn't so much the storyline itself that excited McCullough enough to bring her back to the show she started on when she was 7 - it was returning to her "home" and the idea of working side by side with Steve Burton (Jason) and Maurice Bernard (Sonny) again. "They said that they'll have me working with those guys... and that was enough for me," McCullough smiles. "They did say I was coming back as a doctor, though. That's exciting for me because most of the roles I play, I'm, like, 18," adds the 27-year-old with a laugh. "I just don't know if I'll be able to keep my nose ring as a doctor!" The actress will first air on Wednesday, October 12. (SID 9/27/05) (Chat With Kimberly, 2006) [Alissa ] Kimberly, I'm so glad you're back on General Hospital! Now that Guza has you back on canvas, maybe he can finally carry out that HIV pregnancy storyline with Jason. I know he wanted to do that storyline so badly years ago, now he has the chance to. A lot of fans were just simply amazed by that one scene when Robin went over to Jason's the other day. After all these years, you two STILL have "it". Kimberly McCullough: So happy you said that! I know how much the fans love Jason and Sam and Jason and Elizabeth so it's nice to know that you can still see the chemistry between Jason and Robin after all these years. Steve is a wonderful actor and he makes it easy. They have been hinting at a pregnancy story, which would be groundbreaking. I would love to do it! But who would be the daddy? Who knows? [Lucy] Hi Kimberly, I love Robin and I am so happy you are back on GH. Jason and Robin are my all time favorite couple. The Jason and Robin scenes last week were amazing! Any more Robin and Jason scenes coming up soon? Kimberly McCullough: Thank you. Not that I know of. There's definitely a sweetness between Jason and Robin that I like. Patrick and Robin have a more complicated relationship for sure. I would love to do more scenes with Steve and Maurice, too, for that matter. Write in and tell them! Your letters count. Kimberly McCullough: Or email Brian Frons, he loves to hear what you have to say. Kimberly about Steve during the 10th SSW: McCullough called being back at GH, "The best of both worlds. I get to work with my old friends, and there's a lot of new people, too." But it doesn't come without a price. "Steve calls me 'Rusty' all the time — 'Rusty The Rookie.' " There was also when Kimberly first came back and Steve walks into the makeup room as Kimberly is getting herself done.. She goes, "Why are you bleeding?!" (his leg had fake blood on it).. and Steve answers, "Oh I get shot everyday now.." Late Breaking News: SOD 2007 Night Shift Steve Burton Why Jason's on NS: "I love NS" exclains Steve. "I didn't think I'd ever say that but it's true[laughs].The first episode is awesome. We did a lot of outside stuff, location stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing it" Burton says changes in the soap world led him to accept the NS assignment."Every budget I know is getting cut every year," he points out. Thinks SN is where soaps are going and thought it was a good idea to do something new and original. And likes that Guza and JFP are involved. Burton also notes that since episodes are self-contained, some stories wrap up quickly. "I like that a lot b/c you're not playing the same story for months all the time" he says"I'm working with BDW and Spin. Working with my old pal is another plus. I've gotten to work with Kimberely more, he adds"Viewers will see me working with people that I don't get a chance to work with on GH. With Robin, there's a rich history between her and Jason and will be explored on NS. They're spending a lot of time in together at GH now, so it's pretty cool."Jason describes his relationship with Spin, Steve says"He's his little buddy. Spin is his Gilligan now. Also interview with SD, SBu and NL: Ghost Dad SOD Steve Burton 2007 OH, BABY! "That whole year before Kimberly McCullough (Robin) left the show (in 1997) was great. The story was awesome, and everyone was on their game. Robin [revealed the] truth that Michael wasn't Jason's kid; then, Jason and Robin broke up and she left for Paris. There are stories that start defining a character, and this was one of them." SOD 2007 Night Shift Steve Burton "Working with my old pal is another plus. I've gotten to work with Kimberely more, he adds"Viewers will see me working with people that I don't get a chance to work with on GH. With Robin, there's a rich history between her and Jason and will be explored on NS. They're spending a lot of time in together at GH now, so it's pretty cool." KM: Jason getting amnesia. TVG: Who do you think is Robin’s true love? KM: Her true love? Gosh, who is Robin’s true love? Her unborn baby! TVG: Good answer. June 30, 2005 page 12 Between the fond memories from childhood years and the close friendship she forged during the adult tenure on GH, getting McCullough to return didn't take much coaxing. "Honestly", it was Steve Burton (Jason) who called and asked me to come back." Steve Burton ("Jason" on GH) Transcript Date: March 10, 2005 Steve Burton: Welcome to the chat, thanks for logging on! I'm ready to answer any questions. brzz In soap previews for 2005, you said you'd like to see Robin return. If that happened, would you want to be paired with her again? Steve Burton: That's a good question. I liked working with Kimberly so it could be a good triangle between Jason/Robin/Sam. She did an awesome job while she was here so it would be cool if it happened. Soap Opera Weekly - 2004 Chatter Box Steve Burton Answers Your Questions I was a big fan of Jason and Robin, but never got why Jason could not forgive Robin for her so called betrayal- yet he forgives Carly and others. - Kellie R Hayes, Bayside, NY SB: Jason has actually forgiven Robin now. Kimberly McCullough (Robin) and I had scenes at Lila's funeral where Jason thanked her for a lot of what she did and [explained that he understood] why she did it. It was great to have Kimberly back and work with her again. I like new people, new challenges. Robin and Jason had such a great history on the show, that it was great even if it was just for two scenes. "The most beautiful thing about Steve, is he doesn't know he is. He blushes when I tell him he's cute."-Kimberly McCullough (Robin) "Supercouple! That was a great time. Robin is one of the most instrumental women for Jason. He was basically like a kid after that first accident and she helped him. That was good story we had when she left for Paris. Those are some of the scenes I won the Emmy with that year [for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 1998]." -Steve Burton on loves in his character Jason's past. (SOD 2/21/06) |
